I can’t believe it’s already been five months since my book, Female-Empowered Fashion, was published!
Although my book published in July, I wasn’t able to hold my own copy until September. Despite the delay, I was very excited when my books finally arrived.
The shipment arrived in three boxes with a total of 120 books. This is because along with my own copy, I was given copies of my pre-orders to sign and ship back out. I am beyond thankful for everyone who supported and bought a copy! If you haven’t yet and want to, I will add links to the bottom of this post 🙂

This cover was one of the original options I was given by the graphic designer. I was immediately drawn to it, and it didn’t require any revision. I gave the graphic designer two ideas: a silhouette of a fashion sketch and a dress with empowering words inside. The designer combined the two ideas and illustrated a cover better than anything I could have imagined.
Authors usually don’t have a say in what their book cover looks like, so this is one reason I am thankful for choosing to do a crowdsource funding publishing campaign. By raising money to fund the book myself, I gained the right to approve my design because I was using that money to hire the graphic designer through the publishing company.

Female-Empowered Fashion is about the ways in which fashion promotes female empowerment. This includes how fashion has been used to promote inclusivity in body image, build supportive and educational programs for girls, and show how young women have broken into the industry and gained success.
It includes insights, tactics and solutions from interviews with industry CEOs, VPs, stylists, designers and influencers. Their backgrounds include working for Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Pologeorgis, Oscar de la Renta, Monse, Burnett New York and more.
My hope is that, in reading this book, you will discover that the fashion industry does promote female empowerment. I hope to instill the same sort of passion and excitement that I have for fashion in you. Ultimately, I want you to see this book as a tool to help you understand ways to break into the industry, rise to high-ranking positions and support the movement to empower girls.
